Dear Friends,

USA Ball Hockey, a division of COOL Hockey Events, and Ball Hockey Ontario would like to announce that they have agreed to jointly promote and support each other’s events, effective immediately. The direct benefit of this alliance will be the sharing of contacts that will ensure that both organizations can reach out to teams from around the world.

Three years ago USA Ball Hockey, a division of COOL Hockey Events, LLC was formed. The intent was to become an entity that could support travel teams that compete in prestigious tournaments … events that required teams to travel a great distance (Las Vegas, Barrie, Turks & Germany). USA Ball Hockey has had success by building alliances and partnering with organizations such as DC Street Hockey, SoCal Street Hockey, Greater Pittsburgh Dekhockey, Lancaster Dekhockey, MASHA, BHL, WDMBH and Street Hockey USA to promote this great sport in the United States and abroad.

Ball Hockey Ontario was founded in 1994, with a target of raising the bar for outdoor ball hockey facilities in Canada. Their Barrie facility has grown to four rinks, and is the largest dedicated outdoor ball hockey location in North America. Several new locations are planned in the Ontario, Canada market, and Brian Broley and Tom Roberts have teamed up to form the BR Sports Group to drive that growth. Both are excited to be working with USA Ball Hockey (and others) to increase awareness of the sport and promote the great teams that play in these events.

This alliance will bring improved tournament participation opportunities as well as giving facility owner/operators and team representatives another organization to share ideas with to benefit the sport. This will also provide a tremendous networking opportunity for all organizations, teams, and players who do or would like to participate in ball hockey tournaments all over the world. The leaders of USA Ball Hockey and Ball Hockey Ontario see this as a key step in creating improved communication within the ball hockey industry.  They look forward to working with all participants and operators to take the sport to the next level. If you have comments or questions, please feel free to contact Jamie or Tom for more information.

Sincerely,

Below is an article from the President of the ISBHF in regards to the USA womens National Team program.
The Time Has Arrived

Days away from the big event, and I can feel the tension building, the nervous anticipation, the butterflies in the stomach. It has been years since I played or coached, but it still feels the same. The Senior World Championship is the most coveted prize in our sport, attainable by few, but desired by many.

The 2007 version is an historical moment, with the first ever Women's World Championship opening up the grand tournament. Austria, Canada, Czechia, Germany, Slovakia, and USA will partake in the inaugural event. Only one shall be crowned and have the honor of being the first, and the competition should be spectacular. The ISBHF has hosted two World Cup exhibition tournaments, 2005 & 2006, with CAN and SVK claiming wins, however CZE enters the world stage for the first time with a women's club, and we all expect them to be formidable. USA has been preparing for over a year, and created a model program of selection and training. Their potential is something to be wary of if you are a street hockey opponent, for example the recent win at the World Junior Championship. GER as the host should be spirited in front of their home crowd and their pride will make them a difficult foe, while AUT presents and unknown element, which often catches established teams by surprise.

We are proud to see this day finally come in our sport, and in a few short years we hope the women's WC will rival the men's in size, skill, and competition.
